Associate Members of Common Room

Reuben College welcomes the talents and experience of those outside of its direct membership and seeks to open its doors to a wider range of colleagues. Reuben’s ‘Associate Membership of Common Room’ (AMCR) adds to these initiatives.

Elected AMCR membership is for academics and professionals with an academic connection to the College’s interests and themes. The majority of associate members are expected to be drawn from the University’s postdoctoral researchers, but the College also has the capacity both to elect postholders more established in their career, and/or from outside of the University.

Associate Members of Common Room will receive the College termcard and the right to book onto advertised Reuben College dinners and events at guest rates and without the need for a College ‘host’.

Applications

At this time the College has up to 20 elected AMCR vacancies and, whilst it is particularly keen to increase membership in the Social Sciences and Humanities, welcomes applications from across all academic disciplines.

Prior to any application being submitted, it is expected that anyone applying to be elected as an Associate Member of Common Room has had a conversation with a Governing Body Fellow who would then be asked by the College to speak to their application. You can find a list of Reuben Fellows here (please filter by 'Governing Body Fellow'). Candidates are advised to contact one of those most closely related to their academic theme.

Applications must be emailed to the President’s EA, Chloe Mak on president-pa@reuben.ox.ac.uk.
